His grandfather Roland Perret represented Switzerland in eventing at the 1956 Olympic Games in Stockholm. His mother Daniele competed in the Swiss equestrian championships in 1980. His brothers Ben and Christian have also competed in eventing at international level, and Ben represented Switzerland in the individual competition at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
