General
FROM BRAZIL TO EUROPE
He moved to Europe at age 18 after agreeing with his parents that he could travel for a year before university. However, he chose not to return to Brazil and stayed in Europe to pursue equestrian. In 2017 he relocated from Ittre, Belgium, to Barcelona, Spain. "In early 1996, when I was 14 and thanks to my parents' never ending support, I went to Europe to see the stables of a good friend and professional rider, Felipe de Azevedo. It was then, seeing the best horse riders competing, that I realised I also wanted to work in the sport." OTHER ROLES
In 2020 he was named jumping riders' representative at the athletes' committee of the International Equestrian Federation [FEI], as well as member of the FEI's jumping committee. "I agreed to take up the role to represent athletes due to my passion for horses and sport. I believe that this role is very important to bring up new ideas and our stances to FEI's lead. I hope I can help this sport by working in close partnership with riders and all the jumping community." (shp.org.br, 06 Apr 2020)
