His father owned a riding school. He says that competing at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, motivated him to continue progressing and competing at international level. "The 2006 Asian Games was a huge competition for me, and I could sense the difference between me and the top-class riders. I had never been so mortified. But it became my motivation, so I learned how world-class riders trained in order to compete internationally more often."
