TIME ABROAD
In the lead-up to the 2020 Olympic Games she spent time training in Wellington, FL, United States of America, where she worked with Dutch coach Ton de Ridder, and in Hagen, Germany, where she joined the Hof Kasselmann stables. With restrictions in place due to COVID-19 that reduced the number of competitions she could go to in Germany, she relocated to Portugal in the early part of 2021 to be closer to coach Miguel Ralao Duarte. "Miguel has been my trainer for the last six or seven years. He used to come to Mexico to train us and he always believed in my horse. We wanted him to come to Germany to continue the training but, with COVID-19, it was really complicated. So I decided to move to Portugal so he could continue helping us until the [2020] Olympics. I am really focused on training with Miguel and looking forward to competing in Tokyo. I do miss my family, my friends, and my home in Mexico, but I have to say I am so grateful for the experience I am having here. It has been definitely full of learning and growing in so many ways."
