She practised gymnastics from age four and also did swimming. One day, during time off during her swimming lesson, she jumped from the 3m springboard and liked the experience. "Everything changed that day. I said 'this is my stuff,' and immediately I wanted to jump from the 5m platform and then the 7m platform. I was confident one day I would jump from the 10m platform." INSPIRATION FROM PARTNER
She competes in the synchronised 10m platform alongside Alejandra Orozco, who has been an inspiration for her due to the silver medal she won at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. "I was 12 when [Orozco] won an Olympic silver medal in London at age 15. Watching her on TV being so young made me realise that things can be done, and now she is my partner, with whom I share the dream of be among the world best."
