Kisato Nakamura and Yumi Kajihara were gold medallists in madison at the 2018 Asian Championships in Nilai, Malaysia.

Both athletes have represented Japan in madison at the world championships, but competed in a different pairing. Kajihara's best result at the tournament is an 11th-place finish in 2019 with Kie Furuyama, while Nakamura was ranked 15th with Kie Furuyama in 2020 in Berlin.

Nakamura and Kajihara competed as part of the same Japanese team pursuit squad at the world championships in 2016, 2018, and 2019. Their best result was a ninth-place ranking at the 2018 World Championships in Apeldoorn.
