Thery Schir and Robin Froidevaux have major tournament experience as a pair, having finished eighth at the 2020 World Championships in Berlin and seventh at the 2019 European Championships in Apeldoorn.

Both men have had success as part of other partnerships. Schir won bronze with Stefan Kung at the 2014 World Championships in Cali, Colombia, and also claimed gold medals at the U23 European championships in 2011 [Kung] and 2015 [Frank Pasche]. Froidevaux secured the European Games title in 2019 with Tristan Marguet.
