Youri Havik and Jan Willem van Schip finished on the podium at their first major tournament together, claiming silver at the 2019 European Championships in Apeldoorn. The following year they just missed out on a medal at the 2020 World Championships in Berlin, placing fourth after finishing three points behind German pair Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt.

Havik also competed with Wim Stroetinga at the 2017 World Championships in Hong Kong, China, where the pair were ranked eighth.
