HEART PROBLEMS
In July 2015 she suffered a heart attack while training in Colorado Springs, CO, United States of America. She underwent a procedure to widen her artery during her period of rehabilitation, and also had a stent inserted. In February 2016 she was given the all clear to begin training again by a cardiologist. "Mentally, I resigned immediately after my heart attack, because I felt like my body betrayed me, as I nurtured it so well and I always gave it chances to recover. Of course, I attack it on a daily basis to do training and go full gas, but still, I nurtured it through recovery and rest. But it kind of betrayed me, I really felt betrayed by my own body, so it was quite weird. It took like three to four months to get that confidence back and be like, 'No I don't want to quit, where is my bike? I want to ride my bike'. It took me a couple of months to get back in the position to think that." (christianbosse.com, 19 Oct 2018; omroepgelderland.nl, 02 Feb 2016; bndestem.nl, 10 Dec 2015)

FURTHER EDUCATION
She has studied for a master's degree in marketing at Tilburg University in the Netherlands and a master's degree in management at the Open University in Heerlen, Netherlands. (LinkedIn profile, 01 Jan 2019; Facebook profile, 18 May 2016)
