General Interest

General
WEIGHT LOSS
He credited his overall victory at the 2019 Tour of Denmark to the weight loss he achieved over the European summer that year. He had picked up some nutrition tips from other riders during a training camp with the Dutch professional team Jumbo-Visma. "Halfway through the training camp I could already feel how I felt much better on the bike in general. The structured training, combined with me not eating candy and cakes anymore, helped me to shred the extra kilos. I continued the set-out plan and I could see how the weight came further and further down, all the while I was still able to do well in the training. It can be a hard mental fight to lose weight but when you see and feel the results, it really helps you to stick with the plan. [Prior to the camp] I did feel I had a lot of power and that I was able to push high watts but I struggled on the hills. Afterwards, everything felt much lighter. My watts were still as high as before but it didn't feel nearly as hard pushing those same numbers. It was a great feeling." (develo.cc, 29 Oct 2019)

DANCING INJURY
In November 2019 he broke his foot while dancing at a party he attended with the ColoQuick cycling team in Skive, Denmark. "I was dancing when I twisted my foot. I knew right away something was wrong. The fact that I sustained an injury while dancing is very unfortunate. I have learned one thing: next time I will remain at the bar." (cyclingweekly.com, 29 Nov 2019)
