She dedicated the two gold medals she won at the 2017 African Championships in Durban, South Africa, to teammate Eslam Nasser Zaki, who passed away on the first day of the event. "I don't know if I am happy or sad because I won two gold medals today, but I lost my friend yesterday. I dedicate these two gold medals to him, even though he's not with me right here."
