PERSONAL TRAGEDY
His father died in 2007 in a road accident. He and Eduardo had been travelling home from a youth competition in Argentina. "My father's death affected me but it also helped me to forge my character. CYCLING CENTRE
Before becoming a professional cyclist he joined the International Cycling Union [UCI] World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland. "I shared the experience with people from around the world. They made a team with riders from Asia, Africa, South America. I was second [at a Nations Cup event in Saguenay, QC, Canada] and I was called by Fortuneo [named Bretagne-Seche at the time], who offered me a contract."
