MENTAL APPROACH
She says with experience she has developed ways to overcome the psychological challenges of competing. "You have to learn how to deal with your thoughts. It happens to me often, as if I had a little angel and a little devil inside my head who constantly fight each other. The little devil says, 'Your legs hurt. You're tired. You cannot do it anymore. The others are faster and more skilful than you. You cannot make it'. And then I need to hear my little angel saying, 'You are fit and have trained well. There is still strength in your legs. Do not give up'. It also helps me to think of something else in order to regain focus, for example to count my pedal strokes. I also try to remember successful moments, for example, how good I felt when I overcame another rider. That helps me to defeat the little devil inside my head." (migros-impuls.ch, 24 Mar 2020)

STATURE
She stands at 151cm tall and weighs less than 50kg, which she finds gives her an advantage over her rivals on the climbs. "The steeper the better [for me]. I also benefit when I'm riding behind someone and give little slipstream when I'm in front. [In the past] I was probably underestimated from time to time. That was more of an advantage." FUTURE GOALS
Once her sporting career is over she would like to run her own coffee shop and also to become a baker, which is one of her hobbies. "I like to bake. It came from my grandfather who was a baker. For me it's a good distraction, to have something to do outside competition. It also makes me be creative." (SRF 3 YouTube channel, 04 Dec 2019)
