She grew up on her parents' farm in Huasca de Ocampo, Mexico, and was surrounded by nature from an early age. "As soon as you leave home, you're already in the mountains. There are no cars and traffic. It's paradise for mountain biking. If I could be there all the time I would be very happy. I like travelling and competing, but I like that place for training. TEAM
In the lead-up to the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she and her husband [and coach] Octavio Cetto created Team DC [named after their initials]. She wanted to improve her performance, and realised the only way to do it was to compete outside of Mexico. "For them [sponsors] it is very important to compete here [in Mexico], but an athlete needs international competition to accumulate points and to spot everything that needs improvement.
