A circuit was built near her home in Dessel, Belgium, and when she received her first bike she instantly fell in love with the sport. "I was a very active child and tried a lot of sports. When I was eight years old, a BMX course was built close to us. My parents then bought me a BMX bike. I was pretty good at that so I started training more and then started competing.
