Her father Carlos Mario competed in BMX at the 1995 World Championships in Melgar, Colombia. Her older brother Miguel has participated in the sport at junior national level in Colombia. Her husband Vincent Pelluard has represented France and Colombia in BMX at international level, and was selected to represent Colombia at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. TRACK HONOUR
A BMX track in Medellin, Colombia, was named after her in 2015. She won gold at the track when it hosted the 2016 World Championships. CHARITY WORK
In 2013 she set up the Fundacion Mariana Pajon. The organisation aims to give Colombian youth better opportunities through sport. She has also been appointed a champion of peace and sustainable development by the United Nations Development Programme [UNDP] as a result of her work.
