She followed her older brother Tyler into the sport, joining him and his friends at the skate park. "I guess I just followed in his footsteps. Because he went from racing to freestyle, I jumped straight into freestyle and that's what I learned first. So I went to the skate park with them and they just taught me from there." THE HELMET ISSUE
After being featured without a helmet in a video segment by Ride UK in 2014 she responded to criticism about not wearing one. "Since the [Ride UK video], I have been wearing a helmet every time I ride [but] it's not my responsibility to make sure kids are wearing helmets. Would I like to be a role model for other riders? Absolutely. However, I feel that enforcing wearing a helmet is most important within the home.
