"Since I started, everything has been about the experiences. I have enjoyed the good times, and I have learned from the bad ones. I have learned to get over it and keep thinking about improving and not throwing in the towel. In all this, it is key to know how to improve your performance." (fxpronutrition.com, 03 Jul 2018)

STATURE
Previously she took time out of the sport after being overlooked for national team selection due to her small stature. "I was very frustrated at first because you know that it is something that you cannot correct or improve. I would have preferred that they asked me for better performances or something that was in my power to improve. That frustration made me quit the sport for a time and I didn't want anything more to do with canoeing. But soon I returned. On the one hand, I liked to paddle and I did not have to quit because of what they told me. I went back to enjoying paddling. And on the other hand, I decided to try to win knowing that they would leave me out again but proving to myself that this theory [of not being good enough due to her height] was just that, a theory. When I finally could compete with the national team, I had achieved two very important things. I could go to international competitions for the first time and more importantly, I put an end to those theories that did not make sense to me." (sextoanillo.com, 08 May 2018)
