JOINING THE ARMY
After his unsuccessful bid to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, he joined the Spanish army in 2017, which helped reignite his sporting ambitions. "All of a sudden I found myself without an income and I needed some stability in my life. I had always liked the army, so I decided to take the step and join. The values the army has given me have helped me to continue my sports career. Now I feel more confident and I know I have the whole institution supporting me.
