Her husband Jordan Wood represented Australia in the K4 1000m at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Her father-in-law Steve competed for Australia in the K4 1000m at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and won a bronze medal. Her mother-in-law Anna represented the Netherlands in the K2 500m at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, and then won a bronze medal for Australia in the same event at the 1996 Games in Atlanta.
