:
She has competed in surf lifesaving and Ironwoman competitions at elite level in Australia. She finished 10th overall in 2012/13 and 12th overall in 2012/13 in the professional Ironwoman Series. In 2019 she debuted with the Australian Life Saving Team and won a silver medal in the ski mixed relay at the International Surf Rescue Challenge in Durban, South Africa. She has also been national surf ski champion at U19 level. (paddle.org.au, 03 Oct 2019; sls.com.au, 27 Sep 2019; qt.com.au, 04 Sep 2014)
:
She began surf ski paddling at age 16 with her local surf lifesaving club in Alexandra Headland, QLD, Australia, and was later encouraged by her surf coach to try flat water kayaking. "My first competition was a Queensland Schools Marathon Championship in early 2013 and I won my age group. My first sprint competition was the national championships in Perth in 2013 [where] my partner and I won the K2 500m and the K2 1000m. I also came second in the K1 500m. I qualified for my first [junior] Australian team from this regatta." (canoe.org.au, 12 Mar 2014)
:
"My surf coach encouraged me to have a go in a kayak after representing Australia once [at the 2013 Junior World Championships in Canada]. I really enjoyed it and wanted to keep doing it. I liked how it was just a straight out course, there are no elements of the surf that play a part in the race, it was something different." (canoe.org.au, 12 Mar 2014)

"You have to believe in yourself. If you've done the work, that is all you can do, and all that is left is to be the best you can be on the day. But if you know you haven't done everything you can, don't look for excuses." (canoe.org.au, 12 Mar 2014)
