General Interest

General
BACK TO STUDYING
In April 2020 he returned to his studies following the postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo until 2021. He also continued training in preparation for the Games. "I switched at short notice and enrolled for several courses at the university. For the first time everything will be online, because the university is also in emergency mode. I think it is good that the Games take place almost exactly 12 months later [than originally planned]. We can fall back on all of our planning for this year in terms of outward flights, time adjustments, and precautions for the climate. Only that I'll be 28 and not 27 by then." (sportbuzzer.de, 03 Apr 2020)

NO EVENT PREFERENCE
He has competed at the world championships over 200m, 500m, and 1000m in all three kayak boats. "Maybe people think it's different to be a sprinter or a 1000m guy, but actually, it's not that much different. You start at 100m and if you're talented you can go on to 200m. And you train a bit more and then you get to 1000m. My priority is to compete for my country and of course, get a medal. It doesn't matter if it's K1, K2, or K4."
