General Interest

General
MOVING TO POTSDAM
He grew up in Mannheim, Germany and trained under coach Gerd Riffel. After Riffel passed away in 2016, he trained by himself for a while before deciding to move to Potsdam in 2019 to prepare for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I took a sporting decision to move to Potsdam when it became clear that I needed a change to prepare for the 2020 Olympics. The setup that I have there now could not be better." (pnn.de, 09 Jul 2019)

COFFEE BUSINESS
He and fellow canoeist Felix Frank formed Cold Bean, a company that sells cold brew coffee. They first tasted cold brew coffee in Australia during a training camp and enjoyed it so much that they decided to start a business. "The coffee tastes much better and is much healthier for the stomach after it is brewed cold. Cold brew coffee is not as popular yet in Germany as it is in many other countries, but I expect it to take off in Germany as well."
