TOKYO EXPERIENCE
In October 2019 he participated in the canoe slalom test event for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "It was good to have a few runs down the [Olympic] course. I learnt that I had to be rather aggressive and try and make up time on the upstream gates and the exits, which is hard on this course because the water is really hard to read. I found it a challenge to just let the boat go down the course and I feel you have to control it all the time. It definitely takes time to get used to." (paddle.org.au, 29 Oct 2019)
