She became interested in the sport after paddling for the first time, and was then invited to join a local canoe club by coach Akie Baba. "I canoed at an outdoor event at Lake Tazawa in Semboku, Japan, and while I was fascinated by the beauty of the scenery, I was looking for something more vigorous. TRAINING IN SLOVENIA
While at high school she was invited to train in Europe by an Austrian coach who visited her school. In 2016, one year after graduating from high school, she moved to Slovenia to train and lived there for two and a half years.
