He switched from Muay Thai [Thai boxing] to boxing. "In 2013, I was preparing for the Ukrainian Thai boxing championships, and I received an offer to come to the Ukrainian classic boxing championships. I gladly accepted it, and I went to Ivano-Frankivsk, where I had three bouts, winning two of them. [In Muay Thai] I had frequent injuries to my legs and knees.
