She quit the sport the following year to pursue a vocational degree, but she resumed in 2018 after attending a competition featuring other female boxers. EARLY DAYS
She was one of two girls who took up boxing at the same time at Aggrey Memorial College in Bunnamwaya, Uganda. "Other students looked at me as a failure that wouldn't succeed in boxing even if I trained hard. And my dad didn't want me to join boxing because of marriage issues. During road work, strangers would provoke me. That pushes me to work harder to prove doubters wrong. I have faced many other challenges like accessing the training grounds and all the expenses that come with it, but it's confidence, courage, and love for the game that has kept me going. The advice I would like to share with girls who want to start boxing and any other sport is that this industry isn't for only boys alone. We girls can participate and have a bright future in it."
