RETIREMENT PLANS
He originally planned to retire in 2020 after competing at the Olympic Games in Tokyo but he decided to extend his quest for an Olympic medal until 2021 following the postponement of the Games. "I did not get any medals in my previous two Olympic Games and my target is clear - to get a podium place in Tokyo." (insidethegames.biz, 27 May 2020)

EARLY DAYS
His mother encouraged him to take up boxing as a form of exercise to maintain his fitness. He chose to pursue the sport as a career in order to earn money and help his family. "My family didn't fully support me. My father liked the idea because he was a boxer, but my mother didn't want anyone to punch me. She was afraid I would get hurt. I understood their feelings but I chose boxing because I want to make money to help my family. My aunt once invited me to a match at the temple fair. I lost but I got 50 baht as a fee. I thought, even if I lose, I could still get money to help my parents." (mainstand.co.th, 21 Nov 2019)
