"We are all dancers. We'd rather dance than have to cover up in the corner and get punched. We like speed, and boxing is a dance. It only hurts a little more. I never step into the ring with the thought that I want to hurt or injure my opponent. We have both prepared responsibly and we long for victory. On the other hand, I have respect for my rival but I am never afraid of him. And I won't let him win because I long for victory." (sport.pravda.sk, 26 Jun 2019)

General
ACCIDENT
In October 2017 he was involved in a car accident. His injuries were so serious that he was unable to box for eight months. "I was driving and a hare ran into my path. Instinctively, I pulled the steering wheel, crashed into the board and then into a tree. It was an extremely difficult period. On the way to the hospital, they told me that I could forget about boxing right away. I had broken my third and fourth cervical vertebrae. After six days, they let me go home and then the hell started. I didn't walk for three months, I didn't box for eight. I thought I would have to stop boxing. I was comforted mainly by my loved ones. Family, coach, friends." (sportnet.sme.sk, 06 Jun 2021; olympic.sk, 31 Jul 2019; sport.pravda.sk, 26 Jun 2019; sport.pravda.sk, 26 Jun 2019)

NICKNAME
He has been dubbed the Slovak Muhammad Ali, and has a portrait of the US boxer tattooed on his left forearm. "I see it as a compliment, not a joke. It suits me well. I want to box like him. Ali is my role model, both in boxing style and the way of life." (sport.pravda.sk, 26 Jun 2019)
