General
HOUSE FIRE
In May 2021 a fire destroyed 60% of her home in Toledo, OH, United States of America. She and her partner escaped the blaze after neighbours alerted them at 23:00. Alongside her household belongings, she estimated she lost 10,000 USD of boxing equipment. A charitable fundraising page that she set up raised thousands of dollars in only a few days. "It's just devastating to me that I work so hard for myself and I was never given any handouts or anything, but I feel like everything happens for a reason. Having the community support was very shocking to me because when I post my stuff on Facebook, I don't get a lot of shares, I don't get a lot of likes, I don't think a lot of people even notice me. I know I inspire a lot of people, but I didn't know it would be this big." (13abc.com, 19 May 2021)
