CHANGE OF WEIGHT CLASS
In 2020 he made the switch from light heavyweight to heavyweight. He had struggled with the effect on his health of trying to keep his weight down. "I was thinking about it all year long after the 2019 Pacific Games [in Apia, Samoa, where he won a gold medal] and finally made the move up. After my last tournament it was pretty hard mentally because I was really starving myself and then I just made the decision I don't want to be like this. I want to be 100% fit and focused because I had to focus a lot on my diet instead of training all the time." (rnz.co.nz, 13 Feb 2020)

HERITAGE
He was born in Australia but has Samoan and Polish heritage. "I do love my Polish side as well, especially their food. I love both cultures. They are both very different cultures, Polish culture is very different from Samoa in many ways.
