"I started in rhythmic gymnastics at age five, but at age 10 I was recruited for volleyball by teacher Felicia Pedroso. I was in the eighth grade when I became interested in beach volleyball. She has been selected to play at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo alongside Lidiannis Echevarria. She had regularly competed alongside Mailen Denis, however, the Cuban Volleyball Federation selected one player from each of the two pairs that earned the country a quota place for the 2020 Games at the 2021 North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation [NORCECA] Continental Cup Final in Colima, Mexico, having not had the time to complete a full selection process. OCCUPATION
She works as a stomatologist at a clinic in Havana, Cuba. She combines her occupation with her beach volleyball commitments, but focused full-time on her stomatology career between April and October 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "Every day I attended my job and helped people. I had to work in difficult places, under floodlights and which had closed to identify suspected COVID-19 cases.
