Her parents introduced her to the sport. After a career in indoor volleyball, she switched to the beach in 2016 after attending the national championships in Germany for fun. "People started speculating that I was at the national championships because I wanted to switch to beach volleyball. Even rumours that Karla [Borger] was looking for a new partner and that it would be me started going around, but it was nothing serious. But the following day, Karla did indeed call me and this all of a sudden became a real option for me. I am a very intuitive person in life and I like challenges. Beach volleyball is also better for my shoulder than indoor. I followed my heart and my instinct and decided that this was the right journey for me right at that moment of my life." General
PARTNER
In early 2019 she split with teammate Karla Borger and teamed up with Laura Ludwig, whose partner had retired. "I am learning a lot. Having Laura by my side, with a lot of experience, is a different type of beach volleyball compared to what I was playing before. It's a new situation for her as well, especially since she is now a mum. Having her by my side with her beach volleyball wisdom to learn from is so great." The pair had first met at age 14 when they travelled together to Minsk, Belarus, to play for the national youth team. (fivb.com, 12 Jun 2019; welt.de, 24 Apr 2019)

FAMILY
Both her parents are Polish, and moved to Germany before her birth. "I was born in Hamburg, but my roots are actually in Poland. I feel like home when I am in Poland." (siatkarsko.pl, 20 Sep 2015; onet.pl, 04 Sep 2009; fivb.com, 12 Jun 2019)
