He was assistant coach of the Argentina men's basketball team before being appointed head coach in 2010. At club level he has coached Tau Ceramica, Lucentum Alicante, and Real Madrid in Spain, as well as Boca Juniors, Ben Hur, Obras Sanitarias, San Lorenzo, and Libertad de Sunchales in Argentina. He has also served as the Argentinian U22 men's basketball team coach.

He admitted that he could never have imagined himself living and working in Japan prior to being given the opportunity to coach the men's national basketball team in 2017. He turned down the Japanese federation's initial approach, only to reconsider when he was offered the position for a second time six months later.
