CLUB JOURNEY
He was selected by the New York Mets in the first round, 15th overall pick, of the 2002 MLB Draft out of Cypress Falls High School in Cypress, TX. He spent two seasons in the minor leagues before making his MLB debut for the Tampa Bay Rays - then known as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays - in 2004. From 2004 to 2016 he played in nearly 300 MLB games for a number of teams including the Rays, the Los Angeles Angels, Cleveland Indians, Oakland Athletics, Houston Astros, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also had stints in the Dominican Republic in 2011 and 2012. He made his MLB return in 2021, playing in three games for the San Francisco Giants, and in June 2021 was sent outright to their Triple-A affiliate the Sacramento River Cats. MAJOR LEAGUE COMEBACK
After his last major league appearance for the Los Angeles Dodgers in October 2016, he took some time out from baseball to look after his parents in Houston, TX, both of whom had been diagnosed with cancer. In December 2017 he was signed by the Atlanta Braves, but was released in March 2018 after missing the entire 2017 season due to a hip injury. He then played two seasons for the Eastern Reyes del Tigre of the independent Constellation Energy League in Sugar Land, TX, before being signed to the San Francisco Giants in 2021, where he made his MLB comeback. "To be able to be here right now, it seems like a dream. I knew that I had a lot of baseball left. There were a lot of guys that I hadn't talked to in years from every organisation that I've played for." After playing in three MLB games in the 2021 season, he was assigned to the Triple-A affiliate Sacramento River Cats.
