He was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the seventh round, 197th overall pick, of the 2017 MLB Draft. In 2017 he played for the Reds' Rookie league affiliate team, the Billings Mustangs, before moving up to the Dayton Dragons in 2018, where he played in 82 games that season. In 2019 he was assigned to the Daytona Tortugas, where he played in 79 games that season, and in 2021 he was assigned to the Double-A team Chattanooga Lookouts. (milb.com, 09 Jun 2021)

VETERANS' INFLUENCE
In 2021 he said he is taking the opportunity of being a member of the US team to learn from the older members of the squad. "Being around all of these older guys, I'm just soaking in all of their knowledge they have about the game, and learning anything I can from them. They're not over-pushing anything, but if I come to them with a question, they're more than willing to sit down and talk about it. It's just the little things and mental things, because they all know we're all good players here. I think it also helps that we have a bunch of veteran guys who are helping slow things down for some of the younger players. OLYMPIC DREAM
He said he dreamed of playing baseball at the Olympic Games while growing up. "I was definitely super excited for the opportunity [playing with Team USA].
