He was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 26th round, 785th overall pick, of the 2005 MLB Draft. From 2006 to 2012 he played for a variety of the White Sox's affiliate Rookie and minor league teams. He was initially a starting pitcher before transitioning to the bullpen. He was signed as a free agent to minor league contracts by the Boston Red Sox in 2012, the San Diego Padres in 2013, the Chicago Cubs in 2014, and the Texas Rangers in 2016, and never played in the MLB.
