He pitches in a sidearm style, which he describes as a 'quarter' or 'three-quarter' throwing technique. "When I was in sixth grade of primary school, my overhand throwing posture was not clean enough. At that time I was imitating Japanese baseball player Shunsuke Watanabe and Korean player Lim Chang-Yong. However, there were a lot of people who were better than me, so I decided to develop a sidearm style while in middle school and high school.
