He is head coach of the University of South Florida women's softball team in the United States of America. He joined the USF coaching staff in 1996.

In 1997 he was appointed head coach of the US junior men's national softball team for one year. In 2002 he joined the US women's softball team as an assistant coach. He left the team in 2005 to help his wife raise their two children, before returning as an assistant coach to the women's national team in 2010 before being named head coach in 2011.

In April 2021 he reached 1000 career wins as head coach of the University of South Florida [USF]. He was the second coach at USF to achieve the feat after JoAnne Graf, and was the first USF graduate to have participated in the NCAA national tournament as a player, an assistant coach, and as a head coach [all at USF].
