General Interest

General
COLLEGE RISE
She was not recruited by the University of Florida [UF] or any other NCAA Division I college out of high school. She sent emails to a number of universities, and got the most encouraging response from UF coach Tim Walton. "He [Walton] was really the only coach that responded back with something positive. Growing up, not a whole bunch of people came from Jacksonville and made it out, softball-wise. Not a lot of college coaches came to that north Florida area [where I grew up]. So I didn't really even think I was on that level, but my dad was always encouraging me, telling me I could really do that. I really didn't think I was good enough to play Division I [NCAA] softball." She struggled in her first season at UF in 2009 with a batting average of .261, but a season later she led the team with a .389 batting average, and the following season in 2011 she was named Southeastern Conference [SEC] Player of the Year. (espn.com, 02 May 2012)

ATHLETES UNLIMITED
In 2020 she was part of the first season of the Athletes Unlimited league, which offered an alternative softball format. She was initially uncertain about the new format but eventually decided to accept. "For someone to come and invest in women's sports, I think that's a really cool idea. I wanted to be a part of that." (espn.com, 28 Aug 2020)

NPF DRAFT
She was chosen by the USSSA Pride as the 12th overall pick in the 2012 National Pro Fastpitch [NPF] Draft. (floridagators.com, 03 Oct 2013)

OCCUPATION
For three seasons from 2014-2016 she served as an assistant softball coach at Samford University in Birmingham, AL, United States of America. From October 2012 to May 2013 she undertook an accounting internship at the University of Florida Athletic Association. She has also worked as a receptionist, and as an intern for a wealth management company.
