In February 2020 she tore the anterior cruciate ligament [ACL] and meniscus in her right knee while playing in the first game of the US team's Stand Beside Her tour. She began playing in her backyard at age three, and started playing with a team at age eight. She then played for Etiwanda High School in Etiwanda, CA, United States of America. She followed her older sisters into the sport, and would watch them play on weekends. "Often, my sisters make fun of me, because I was always the loudest one in the stands. I loved it. I practised with my sisters all the time and looked up to them. I literally couldn't wait to play softball. It was almost a given that I would wind up playing, because it was a part of my life since I was little and I fell in love with it from the first time I picked up a softball.
