He says the Mexican softball team have to resort to a range of fundraising methods in order to travel to major competitions. "We went to a Pan American qualifier in Barranquilla, Colombia, where we financed ourselves with raffles, with the sale of t-shirts. As a federation we cover 20 or 30% [of the cost] and the rest has to be covered with money from the players themselves and from the parents who are the ones who really support those who participate representing Mexico."
