In 2019 he teamed up with mixed doubles partner Alexandra Boje after his previous partner Christinna Pedersen retired from international competition. In 2020 he and Boje announced they were also in a romantic relationship. "Of course, it's a little dangerous at times to have such a close relationship with someone you play with. There can be a pretty intense atmosphere during the matches, because we both just want to win. It's a balance, because you don't have to take things so personally because of the relationship, and you have to be able to distinguish that now we are playing badminton. LEARNING INDONESIAN
He began studying the Indonesian language during the 2020 lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. "It has been something else to do besides badminton and I hope I can use it in the future and get a little closer to the Indonesian players and fans. Badminton is really big in Indonesia, so I practice a little every day, and I think it's progressing, so I'm looking forward to getting even better."
