FROM PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA TO FRANCE
Born in Nanjing, People's Republic of China, she decided to move to Europe due to a lack of opportunities in her homeland. She initially spent six months in Austria before settling in France in 2014 and meeting her husband. "The level of badminton in China is nothing like in France. There are so many really good players out there that the coaches don't care about those who are just at a good level. They only take care of the excellent players, that's all. There, I was in the national team and when I got injured, they quickly forgot about me. At the beginning, I came to France simply to play more matches. I was bored in China. There are very few tournaments during the year. So most of the time, we train again and again, but without competition. Me, I wanted to play, not just train. But it was not my original plan to stay. However, then I found love, I got married and decided to stay and live here." (sport24.lefigaro.fr, 17 Oct 2019; franceinter.fr, 01 Jan 2020; ffbad.org, 19 Mar 2019)
