"I really got into badminton by chance. I'd been doing judo for seven years but got injured. I was a little tired of the sport and was losing a fair bit, which I don't like doing. My sister had started badminton at the Maurepas club, but she stopped due to her studies. So I took her membership and badminton really pleased me." (lest-eclair.fr, 21 Jan 2012)

BUSINESS
In 2014 he co-founded Leverdez, a sports and fashion clothing company based in France. He initially planned to retire from badminton following the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and focus his attention on his clothing company, but he instead decided to put his business career on hold and continue his sporting career. "I found that clothing in the sports industry lacked elegance, that there was a need to improve in this area. The company has therefore placed itself in a market that combines elegance and movement. The business was put on hiatus. Originally, I had planned to stop my sports career after the 2016 Olympics, but I continued with it. I couldn't combine training and entrepreneurship. As my associates also had jobs on the side, we had to put this activity on pause. Badminton is a sport that requires a lot of training and I come away very tired. After training, you can't afford not to rest. The company was a side project, it's badminton that gives me life."
