Turkey qualified for the men's 4x100m relay via the world rankings, and will be attending their fifth Olympic Games in Tokyo.
They did not start at their first Games in 1924, and finished ranked equal 10th four years later. After disqualification from their heat at the 1948 Games in London, it would be 68 years before Turkey returned to the Olympic stage in 2016. They finished fourth in their heat in Rio de Janeiro, which was not enough to see them through and they were eliminated with a final ranking of 10th.
Turkey have made two appearances at the world championships, contesting the most recent editions of the tournament in 2017 and 2019. They qualified for the final in 2017 and finished seventh, but were disqualified from their heat in 2019 for an illegal baton changeover.
