He began focusing on sprinting in 2018 as a way of becoming faster for American football. He turned down a number of offers from universities in the United States of America to play American football in order to turn professional as a sprinter in 2021. "I know I can maximise to the next level. I've got to see what I can do. I want to win against the top athletes, but I know they're not going to take it easy on me, so I'm going to have to train real hard. It's not high school anymore. It's only my third season running track. I've been extremely successful in both training and competition. I believe if I work hard, I will eventually develop to be a world-class athlete.
