In late 2017 she suffered four stress fractures in her foot during the US collegiate cross-country season, forcing her to miss the US collegiate indoor and outdoor seasons in 2018. She returned to competition seven months later. (tempojournal.com, 17 Jun 2018)
After the 2016 US collegiate cross-country season she was diagnosed with chronic posterior tibial tendinitis. She missed the 2017 US collegiate indoor season and could not run consistently for four months, but returned to competition in April 2017.
