She took up the sport through the Australian children's athletics programme Little Athletics. "I continued this until my teenage years, then ran cross-country in high school among other sports. "You can build yourself into a very anxious state before races. I think being nervous is good, but being super-anxious and feeling like you don't belong is not really going to achieve anything. I think you really have to enjoy being there." (tempojournal.com, 01 Oct 2019)

General Interest

General
GETTING SERIOUS
In 2016 she decided to start seriously focusing on athletics and began working with coach Julian Spence. Previously she had struggled to maintain her fitness and training routine because she spent months at a time travelling. "In the back of my head I'd always thought, 'One day I'll have a proper crack at running', but it just hadn't eventuated. There was no time left to keep swaying about whether I was going to have a crack at it. That's when I recruited Julian to make me get fit and stick to the programme, and I knew that he would get stuck into me if I didn't stick to it, which was exactly what I needed." (tempojournal.com, 01 Oct 2019)

OCCUPATION
She works for an Australian online coaching business. She has also worked as a physiotherapist and pilates instructor at a health studio in Geelong, VIC, Australia. (athletics.com.au, 28 Sep 2019; tempojournal.com, 01 Oct 2019; LinkedIn profile, 01 Jun 2019)
