She began training with the Tegla Loroupe Foundation in 2015, at the Kakuma Refugee Camp in northern Kenya. (unhcr.org, 03 Jun 2016)

A teacher at the Kakuma Refugee Camp suggested she take part in a 10km race organised by the Tegla Loroupe Foundation. She performed well despite never having trained before, and began training with the foundation. "I had not been training. It was the first time for me to run, and I came number two. I was very surprised. I didn't know that talent could take me anywhere. I just loved sport."
